My name is Samantha, usually Sam, and sometimes Stevie. I am a 24 year-old aspiring writer. I have recently completed the manuscript to my first novel, which will hopefully be circulating the desks and computer screens of literary agents by the time you read this. While my interest in the literary field primarily lies in fiction, I wanted to utilize this blog to manage and compartmentalize my thoughts and observations regarding society, culture, and the world at large.

The main purpose of this blog is to get healthy conversations going through an interface that is more often user frenemy than it is friendly and at worst disconnects us more than it does connect. Words are not dead, no matter how fragmented or abbreviated or limited by characters they are. So why not use them to their full potential?

I was a born in Los Angeles, but spent my childhood living between the States, China, the Philippines and Australia. Receiving an international education opened my eyes, early on, to the power of language. My desire to communicate effectively in new classrooms imprinted upon me the idea that words are the keys to infinite ways of expression. From then on learning languages supplemented my two true constants, reading and writing.
